EPL DFS Goalkeepers

Paulo Gazzaniga (Watford @ Tottenham, $14) – Despite Tottenham’s recent struggles, it’s very hard to ignore Gazzaniga here.  His opponent has only scored 4 goals in 8 games this year, with only 1 of those goals coming away from home.  On top of that, Tottenham has only conceded 3 goals in 4 home games in the EPL this season.  Tottenham are solid favorites on Saturday meaning a win bonus is likely, plus he has a good shot at the clean sheet bonus as well.

More from DFS

Kepa Arrizabalaga (Newcastle @ Chelsea, $13) – Newcastle is another team that struggles mightily to score on the road with only 3 goals in 4 league games.  After a rocky start to the season, Chelsea is up to 5th right now.  They’re our second-largest favorite on the slate and a win bonus looks very likely here for Kepa.  Additionally, most of Chelsea’s defensive breakdowns have come on the road.  They’ve only given up 7 goals in 6 games in all competitions this fall at Stamford Bridge.  There is a risk here if Kepa concedes because he likely won’t make many saves to make up for a lost clean sheet.

Kasper Schmeichel (Burnley @ Leicester, $11) – I was confused to see Schmeichel this far down the goalkeeper list on this slate.  Leicester has been a strong team this year as they sit in 4th place right now with the 2nd best home record.  They’re only allowing 0.5 goals per game at home and Schmeichel’s excellent goalkeeping is part of the reason why.  Burnley is a decent opponent, but not nearly good enough to scare me away.  Schmeichel should make a good number of saves in this game and he’s also in a solid spot for one or both bonuses.  He’s a high floor, high ceiling play in this matchup for a very reasonable price.

Vicente Guaita (Manchester City @ Crystal Palace, $11) – I normally stay away from goalkeepers facing Manchester City, but Guaita might be an exception.  Palace has only given up 1 goal in 4 games at home this year.  City forces opposing goalkeepers to make a ton of saves, which is exactly what I except from Guaita.  I don’t foresee Palace allowing more than 2 goals, so he should not lose a ton of points from goals against.  The fact that Palace probably won’t score themselves tames his upside with no win bonus, but he should still get plenty of save points and a clean sheet is not out of the question.  It’s hard to take him over Schmeichel, but he will definitely be lower owned if that’s what you’re looking for.
