The likeliest college football Week 8 upsets picks have three unbeaten teams being put on upset alert for Saturday while others face tough road tests.

Week 8 of the 2019 college football season has all of the makings for big upsets. Last week was one of the marquee slates of games for the entire regular season. Between rivalry matchups, high-profile conference showdowns and even some games that ended up being better than expected, it was the best week of college football this year up to now.

There’s no question that Week 8 can’t match the name-brand value of last week. However, as we come on the heels of a week like that, there is the potential for letdowns. A team like the Florida Gators got up for a huge matchup against LSU last week and, though they lost in the end, they undoubtedly exerted a ton of emotional energy into that contest. Now they have to go on the road to face another tough SEC matchup in South Carolina.

Furthermore, some of the unsung undefeated teams in college football have some tough tasks in Week 8 of the season. The SMU Mustangs face a Temple team that already has two wins over ranked opponents, the Baylor Bears go on the road to Stillwater against Chuba Hubbard and an explosive Oklahoma State squad and the Penn State Nittany Lions face their second-straight ranked opponent.

On top of that, we have two matchups between ranked teams taking place in the Pac-12 in Week 8. The No. 17 Arizona State Sun Devils hit the road to face the No. 13 Utah Utes while the No. 12 Oregon Ducks are away against the No. 25 Washington Huskies. And while the Utes are too closely matched with the Sun Devils to be put on upset alert, the Ducks are not in the same position with their road tilt.

So while we might not be looking at the best group of games that we’ve seen for a week of college football, the drama could still be at an all-time high. Upsets are brewing at this crucial juncture of the 2019 season and these five teams are on upset alert in Week 8.
