The NBA season officially starts tonight with a two game slate featuring the defending NBA Champions against some old Lakers on a new team and the battle of Los Angeles.

Welcome back, NBA fans.

Some of you may know me from selecting top high salary and high value players for both DraftKings and FanDuel every day, and if you do know me, hi, glad to see you again. If you don’t know me, welcome, I promise this will be the longest intro you’ll ever read from me.

This year, I’ll be bringing fans Studs, Scrubs, And Duds. Studs are high salary players who have a matchup you have to take advantage of. Scrubs are lower salary players who are under the radar and could be in for a big game or simply valuable options who can round out your team. And duds are guys you might be thinking about taking, but should avoid. With only two games on the slate, you may not get a full scope of what I’ll be bringing you daily.

Each slide will feature five players and encompass both DraftKings and FanDuel.

With the introduction out of the way, lets get to it.

NBA DFS Studs

LeBron James (at LAC – $9,900 on DK; $11,400 on FD): LeBron is costly in either lineup, but he’s LeBron. Anthony Davis will take a lot of pressure off of him and numbers are never an issue for The King. I like him more in DraftKings where double-doubles and triple-doubles are rewarded and he’s more in line with Kawhi’s salary. FD the price might be too high for opening night.

Jrue Holiday (at TOR – $7,900 on DK; $8,900 on FD): Jrue was one of the most consistent DFS players last season and there is no reason that can’t continue given the extra help around him. Lonzo and Ingram will take away some opportunities, but the Pelicans are still his team and he’s still the best player on the team. He has the ability to put up a similar DFS score as the big thing, on a much cheaper salary.

Pascal Siakam (vs NO – $7,600 on DK; $8,000 on FD): The same can be said for Pascal Siakam, who will take on a larger role with Kawhi in LA. No Zion certainly helps Siakam, who is a matchup nightmare for the interior defense of the Pelicans and on any potential switches. Look for his numbers to be in line, if not better, than Holiday’s.

Kawhi Leonard (vs LAL – $9,600 on DK; $9,900 on FD): With Paul George out, Kawhi is the lone star on the Clippers, but he has plenty of great talent around him. I always trust Kawhi in these big games when he’s out to prove a point. And we know he’s out to prove a point. I like him more than LeBron, especially on FanDuel.

Anthony Davis (at LAC – $10,200 on DK; $12,100 on FD): We know Anthony Davis is a monster and I’m not worried about him playing alongside like LeBron. We won’t have to sacrifice, he’ll only be elevated. He’s the top player on the night so he’ll cost you a pretty penny, but he’ll be worth it, especially on DraftKings were a double-double is guaranteed.
