The first of those is SMU at Houston. You can’t even use the excuse that you haven’t heard of the teams this time. SMU is undefeated and ranked this late in the season for the first time since Eric Dickerson got paid good money to run the Pony Express in Dallas.
Houston, well, we all know the sordid story about Houston. About how new coach Dana Holgorson talked senior QB D’Eriq King and others into redshirting after a 1-3 start so they could have a fresh start – and a chance at a New Year’s Six bowl – next season. Predictably, the team has scuffled since then.
The one notable difference in the DraftKings college football showdown tournament is that you cannot choose a defense. I’ll tell you that this is for obvious reasons. Defense is not a college level course for most schools. Don’t fret though! It just opens more offensive options.
Kickers are really only worth it if you see it being a high scoring game or a game of field goals. In this matchup, I would vote for the former.
I did fairly well with last week’s showdown. Billingsley and Barker came through, but the wrong receivers made sure I got no more than minimum cash.
I expect this game to be on the lower end of the scoring spectrum, so it is especially important to get the key pieces of each offense for this DraftKings college football showdown matchup. That’s hard to do right? Especially when you can’t punt with a defense. Not necessarily. There are some sneaky plays in here that can open everything up. Let’s dig in to this interesting DraftKings college football showdown!
