NBA DFS Picks and Pivots – Wednesday, October 23
Welcome to the Wednesday edition of NBA DFS Picks and Pivots, a fantasy basketball column focused on helping you find the best core lineup for this slate of DFS action!
For those of you finding us for the first time, the concept behind NBA DFS Picks and Pivots is to give you a first look at the day’s NBA DFS slate, including our top picks, plays and pivots, using FantasyDraft pricing as a reference to help you build your best fantasy baseball line-up and win big.
Picks and Pivots is not a simple “best plays” column but rather it focuses on slate strategy and roster construction to help give you insight into how I will look to play this slate. The goal of this article is to dig through the slate, highlight our top plays and help you identify the best slate strategy across your NBA DFS line-ups.

Tuesday’s opening night NBA DFS was filled with high-scoring DFS plays led by the Toronto Raptors duo of Pascal Siakam (66 fantasy points) and Fred VanVleet (56) who needed overtime to beat the Pelicans 130-122.
For those of you who game stacked this spot as we outlined in Picks and Pivots yesterday, you were rewarded with an extra OT frame which helped push our core build of Pelicans/Raptors well above the cash line.
Looking at the FantasyDraft contests last night, it took 350 fantasy points to take down the $25 GPP while 313 points were only good enough to minimum cash in that contest. The cash line in the big $2 double-up, by contrast, was only 281 fantasy points and I recommend as we start the season to track the cash lines by different contests to understand how your lineups are stacking up on a nightly basis.
Without further ado, let’s get into today’s slate!
