Astros crumble in 7th, Nationals take surprising 2-0 lead in World Series

The Washington Nationals picked apart the Houston Astros defense in the 7th inning to propel them to a 2-0 series lead in the 2019 World Series.
If folks were still skeptical of the Washington Nationals after their surprising Game 1 win, those doubts were quickly washed away in the 7th inning of the 2019 World Series
The Nationals turned a 2-2 game into a 12-3 rout of the Houston Astros to take a 2-0 series lead in the Fall Classic, and they did it once again with a dominant bullpen and an explosive offense. Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg recovered greatly after giving up two 1st inning runs to completely shut down the Astros bats, and the bullpen did the rest after he exited the game in 6th inning.
Astros ace Justin Verlander also had a strong outing after giving up two quick runs in the 1st, but his night would take a turn for the worse in the 7th inning.
Catcher Kurt Suzuki broke a 2-2 tie with a solo shot to left field. Then, Howie Kendrick hit an infield single to third, which brought home Victor Robles that made it 4-2 Nationals.
One would have thought that Verlander would regain his groove, but the Nationals bats were red-hot, and couldn’t be turned off.
Asdrubal Cabrera singled to center, which brought home both Trea Turner and Juan Soto which made the score 6-4. After a Ryan Zimmerman single made the score 7-2, Houston picked the worse time to commit their only error of the game.
3B Alex Bergman’s throwing error brought Cabrera home, and just like that, it was 8-2 Washington, and the Astros fans had to feel as if the game was out-of-reach. A two-run homer by Adam Eaton, another Cabera single, and a Trea Turner solo homer capped the scoring the Nationals, and all of a sudden, the team with the best record in the Majors, who also had the best home record in the MLB, are now two games away from being swept out of the World Series.
Game 3 is Friday night at Nationals Park, the first World Series to be played in the countries capital since the 1930s.
