NBA DFS – Studs, Scrubs, and Duds For October 24
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s daily fantasy NBA lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
7 p.m. ET: Atlanta at Detroit
8 p.m. ET: Milwaukee at Houston
10:30 p.m. ET: LA Clippers at Golden State
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Giannis Antetokounmpo (at HOU – $10,300 on DK; $12,200 on FD): The MVP is back in action. Giannis is going to be the most costly player on the night, but it’s for a good reason. He’s guaranteed points as he puts up numbers in all categories. And I am not a fan of the Rockets defense coming into this season. They have a lot to figure out defensively at the point of attack with Westbrook and Harden. The Bucks know who they are.
Kawhi Leonard (at GS- $9,100 on DK; $9,800 on FD): Kawhi looked plenty healthy in his Clippers debut against the Lakers and there’s no reason to go away from him against the Warriors. With the changeover in Golden State, their defense could suffer in a big way. And there aren’t many players in the league who are going to slow Kawhi anyway. He’s a steal on FD given that he’s lower than Curry and Westbrook.
Montrezl Harrell (at GS – $6,100 on DK; $7,000 on FD): Harrell played well against the Lakers, has a good matchup against the Warriors, and is at a great price on DraftKings. He’s a guy who can flirt with a double-double and get easy points thanks to his chemistry with Lou Williams.
Andre Drummond (vs. ATL – $8,300 on DK; $10,300 on FD): Drummond was a monster on opening night against the Pacers. It’s a back-to-back, which could make it a little tougher, but it’s also early in the season. And without Blake Griffin, Drummond will continue to be the focal point for the Pistons. His DraftKings salary is far too low given that he’s a guaranteed double-double.
Lou Williams (at GS – $6,700 on DK; $6,900 on FD): Lou remains a killer off the bench and the Warriors have a similar issue to the Lakers in that their bench isn’t very good. Lou is cheaper than Middleton and Russell, yet offers similar if not better value. He’s going to continue to thrive this season as the third option and first off the bench.
