2. Kenyan Drake to the Bills

Frank Gore is doing a nice job as Buffalo’s feature back at the moment, but he’s not the long-term answer for the Bills. Acquiring Kenyan Drake from the Dolphins would give Sean McDermott’s team a dynamic weapon to take more pressure off quarterback Josh Allen.

The Dolphins are one of the worst teams in NFL history. That means their front office should be looking to trade anyone who isn’t nailed down. Drake isn’t putting up huge stats for the Miami offense, but it’s hard to judge anyone in that disastrous ecosystem.

The challenge here is finding compensation that works for both sides. Running back is a devalued position around the league at the moment. There’s a valid argument to be made that giving any sort of valuable draft compensation up for a running back is a poor use of resources.

That means Buffalo needs to be really careful what they’re willing to give up here. They shouldn’t even think of giving up a pick on Day One or Day 2 to bolster their running back options. Instead, look for a late round pick to be the only offer they’re wiling to make. The Dolphins should still take it. They need draft capital more than any other team in the league.
