EPL DFS Mid-Tier and Value Attackers

Neal Maupay (Everton @ Brighton, $16) – Normally Maupay is a tough sell for me with the defensive style of Brighton.  However, this weekend at home against a struggling Everton side could be the week to get him.

He’s playing pretty well right now too with 33.6 and then 17.3 fantasy points.  Maupay is fairly goal dependent with a lack of many peripherals, so you really need that goal from him.  He is Brighton’s best chance at scoring though.

On a small slate, he’ll be risky with his low floor but he’s a great way to grab a low-owned goal to separate yourself from the pack.  Aaron Connolly ($13) blasted himself onto the EPL scene with a brace against Tottenham recently.

The youngster looks to have secured some more consistent playing time for now, and he’s worth a dart throw if you want to attack Everton as they continue to slide.  While he’s another low floor player, you can look to Davy Propper ($13) for more consistent peripherals with 6/7 games in double digits.

Willian (Chelsea @ Burnley, $16) – After a rocky start to the EPL season, Willian looks to have returned to decent form with 24.1 fantasy points on average over his last 3 games.  He’s created 3 chances in each of his last 2 games to go along with good defensive peripherals.

Willian also has 1 goal and 1 assist in that 3 game span.  Chelsea is also starting to play well right now.  I’ve mentioned how this isn’t the best match-up, but Chelsea is the largest favorite nonetheless so getting your exposure to them is important in cash games.

Felipe Anderson (Sheffield United @ West Ham, $14) – Anderson is shaping up to be one of my favorite dollar-per-dollar plays on the slate.  He’s just too cheap for this home matchup, where has had plenty of success this season.

He’s gone for 20+ fantasy points in 3/4 of West Ham’s home games, with the game against City being the dud.  With another home match-up on the docket Saturday, Anderson is one of the best mid-tier guys you can get.

Philip Billing (Bournemouth @ Watford, $11) – The rest of the value attackers section is rough, so I’m mainly focused on finding those guys who have safer floors than other players around them.  If you’ve read any of my previous EPL DFS Breakdowns, you already know the story here with Billing.  He’s one of the best value midfielders week in and week out at collecting peripherals.

He should get into double digits no problem in this match-up, and he’s shown 20+ point upside from peripherals alone.  His attacking upside is limited, but you can look to Harry Wilson ($11) or Ryan Fraser ($10) for cheaper exposure to Bournemouth’s attack.

Pascal Gross (Everton @ Brighton, $10) – Gross is playing well right now averaging 3.8 chances created per game over his last 5 games.  This is a good time to take advantage of Everton’s leaky defense.

After starting the season with 2 straight shutouts, they’re giving up an average of 2.5 goals per game since.  At home, Gross should be able to create a good amount of chances to go along with a few defensive peripherals.  He’s my favorite value play of the week.
