2. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles may have won the Super Bowl two years ago, but that accomplishment is a long time ago for the restless Philadelphia faithful. Injuries have played a significant role in the Eagles’ poor start, which has now reached a crisis point in the city of brotherly love.

The issues that the Eagles have with their secondary is well documented, as the unit has been decimated to the point that it has needed undrafted rookies and street free agents to fill out the group. DeSean Jackson has also been out for several weeks, and the Eagles have missed his ability to stretch the field on offense.

Things hit a fever pitch on Sunday night, when the Eagles got run right off the field early in a first place showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. Quarterback Carson Wentz had a nightmarish game, turning the football over three times and getting sacked three times as the Eagles simply couldn’t get anything going.

The Eagles are still only a game out of the NFC East lead, but they need to snap their two game skid soon if they want to stay there. Next up is a trip to Buffalo to take on the 5-1 Bills, who have gotten off to a hot start but have played few teams with as much talent as the Eagles have.

Buffalo will provide a stiff test for the Eagles, but they have to start passing those tests if they want to win anything this year. A loss will drop the Eagles to 3-5, meaning they might have to win out to make the postseason at that point.
