NXT UK recap, Oct. 24: Rise of the Silver Fox

Halloween plans
Xia Brookside gives a vlog update on how she’s doing, what her general mindset is. After defeating Nina Samuels last week, she’s feeling pretty good! Her NXT UK career has had its ups and downs, but she’s on an upward swing now, so she’ll take it. One thing sticking with her however, is that time she almost won the first-ever NXT UK women’s battle royal.
She thought she’d won, but then Kay Lee Ray emerged from hiding to toss her out and steal the win, and the No. 1 contendership, and arguably the NXT UK Women’s title. Arguably. Xia promises to not linger on that though, and keep at training and getting back to where she belongs on the brand. And hopefully Kay Lee Ray will still be champ when she gets there, because wouldn’t that be the chance for ultimate revenge?
Next week a very special Halloween edition of NXT UK will see the show air at a very scary time. For one week only, NXT UK will air at 11 AM EST, 4 PM GMT.
That episode will see the debut of the much-hyped A-Kid. If you don’t know A-Kid, you can watch this match he had with Zack Sabre Jr. in Spanish promotion White Wolf Wrestling that received five stars from Dave Meltzer himself. Also, Tyler Bate throws A-Kid some love in a random backstage promo this week. l that might as well be him saying “I’m Commander Shepherd and this is my favorite wrestler on this system.” (Also also, he got jobbed the hell out on a May episode of NXT UK against the current tag team champions.)
Clearly, A-Kid is very good. Hopefully with all this hype, he doesn’t go the way of Oliver Carter. We just hope he shows up to next week’s Halloween show dressed as Vincent Adultman.
Another match taking place next week: Jordan Devlin versus Dave Mastiff. Two guys so good, it’s spooky! Dave should obviously dress up as an actual Mastiff, while Jordan should just lean into it already and go full Demon Bálor. This one is probably going to be a graveyard smash.
And that will do it for this recap of NXT UK. Are you excited by the idea of some Gallus-Imperium gang warfare? Should Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith feud so one of them can get a win? Know the secret to escaping from a double backslide?
Let us know your thoughts on those questions and anything else related to NXT UK down in the comments. If you happened to enjoy anything you read, please give us a share on social media. See you next week for a very spooooky (but probably not because they taped it weeks ago) NXT UK!
