Fantasy football picks: Week 8 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Cameron Brate – I really hope people overlook Brate on this slate. He will be making the start in place of OJ Howard, who is inured, but was struggling anyway. That will give him a massive increase in snaps, and obviously production. Brate has pretty good chemistry with Winston, but is primarily used in the red-zone, and for very short first down plays. The Titan defense has been good but they struggle against tight-ends, allowing the ninth most points at that position.I would expect Tampa to throw the ball quite a bit in this game, as the Titans are very difficult to run on. They have a 13.7% DVOA against the pass, so that would be the aspect for us to target. Brate is dirt cheap on FanDuel, priced at only 5.2k, and should easily exceed value.
Noah Fant – This is a very interesting play in my opinion, and is actually the minimum price on FanDuel. At a position that is very weak, I typically will pay down. Indy actually gives up the third most points against tight-ends, which is something I mentioned before in this article. Their defensive scheme is meant for them to place an emphasis on coverage over the top, but leave the underneath wide open, for little slant routes and curls. This is why they give up so many points to tight-ends, because unless you are Travis Kelce, most of the big guys only run these short routes. Fant is actually logging 69% of the snaps, and should be more involved in the offense since the departure of Sanders. This is all speculation of course, since this is the first week that Denver will be without him. Still, at minimum salary, the expectations are very low on Fant, and if he was to find his way into the end-zone, playing him could pay off in a big way.
