Late DraftKings college football running back picks October 26

Top Tier:

Regardless of defensive prowess, Max Borghi has the highest volume of anyone that isn’t a quarterback on this slate. Not only is he the runner the few times Washington State does run, but Borghi has at least five receptions in all but one game since week 2. Borghi even had 21.1 DraftKings points against that Utah defense. He’s safe in any matchup.

I like Zack Moss a lot more if Huntley is out, but Cal has still allowed 151 yards rushing per game. This is where you want to go at the defense, but Moss isn’t really an explosive back. He’s a volume guy as well, but his ceiling is a lot lower than Borghi.

Middle Tier:

The running games of Air Force and Utah State could drive you nuts. Kadin Remsberg is the starting running back for an option attack, but he has been outrushed by Timothy Jackson the last couple of games and by fullback Taven Birdow in almost every game. Remsberg is probably the riskiest piece of the Air Force option.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget about Juwan Washington in that crowded SDSU backfield. Washington is still putting up solid numbers whenever he takes the field, but the emergence of so many other backs caps his upside.

Bargain Shoppers:

Oregon is saying that CJ Verdell has a soft tissue sprain, but that he will play against Washington State. That kind of makes me nervous. Oregon isn’t as deep as usual at RB, but why would they risk Verdell? I love the price, but there’s a good chance that Verdell’s workload is a lot less than we are used to. Are you willing to take that risk? Travis Dye seems like a better option in this one.

I think it’s safe to say that Gerold Bright is now the starting running back for Utah State. Warren is still going to see plenty of chances, but Bright is the guy you want if you’re taking a shot at the Air Force defense. I don’t like the idea, but honestly, with Bright so cheap it’s hard to ignore.
