FanDuel NBA Breakdown – GPP Plays

Kyrie Irving (10,300) – On a slate that is loaded with other star power, I am thinking that Kyrie gets overlooked. He is priced up a little high for my liking, but he is dominating the usage at 37.9%, and 1.73 FPM in this very small sample size. He gets a match-up with Memphis, which is normally a team that we would not target historically. They are now starting a rookie point guard in Ja Morant, and have increased their pace dramatically compared to last year. Of course this is a small sample size, but if this holds true, Kyrie will be put in an excellent spot at very low ownership.

Kristaps Porzingis (8,400) – The unicorn is just a little too expensive for use in cash games with all these other studs, but he has great upside for GPP’s. He is just behind Luka in usage, at 30,1% and 1.19 FPM. He put up just over 20 real points in both games, but only played 29 minutes in both games. He did have five blocks in his last game which really helped his overall production. He will be matched up against Collins who is not anywhere near the same level of talent compared to that of Porzingis. I like his chances to reach over 30 minutes in this game, where the Mavericks will need all hands on deck.

Hassan Whiteside (8,300) – Whiteside is as true of a GPP player as you will ever see. He does not play a very heavy amount of minutes, playing 26 in both games. He is a very high FPM guy, at 1.60, with a 21.9% usage rate. His usage will never be much higher than that considering he is the third scoring option after CJ, and Dame, but he does rack up a lot of blocks, and rebounds. His ceiling is very high with his block upside, but keep in mind his floor is rather low due to his low workload.
