Fantasy football picks: Week 8 MNF Steelers vs. Dolphins

Game theory is something that I have had to really work on going into this season, and it really takes your game to the next level once you start to get the hang of it. With single-game slates, game theory is a little bit different due to the 1.5x MVP point slot. Usually, this spot is used for the most popular play on the slate, which is normally a quarterback. However, I will tell you a little secret, very rarely do chalk MVP quarterbacks win you a single game tourney.

With that being said, in cash games you have to be a little more conservative, which I why I always recommend playing multiple GPP lineups instead of one cash lineup in these. That allows you to play much less conservative, take more chances, and have a better chance at hitting for the big one that we are all chasing.

For this game, I think the cash game approach will be similar for almost everyone. Play either Conner or Rudolph in the bonus spot, and fill in the gaps. I think that is a smart approach for cash lineups, we want to find an edge for tourneys. JuJu is a great pivot as the MVP, and has some good upside, depending on how Pittsburgh approaches this game. He is fast, with big play ability, and that is exactly the ceiling we are looking for. As crazy as it sounds, Mike Gesicki would be a wild play as the MVP, and you will likely get him at 1% ownership in that spot. Note, I am not suggesting this play in cash lineups, but if you are rolling multiple GPP lineups, why not take a shot on him.
