NFL quarterback rankings, Week 9: Baker Mayfield isn’t dangerous
Chris Miller Division
28. Matt Schaub (LW: NA)
Schaub went for more than 400 passing yards in Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Sure, most of it was in garbage time, but who cares? Schaub was fun for at least one game, and frankly, that’s more than one quarterbacks have given their fans this season.
27. Ryan Fitzpatrick (LW: 32)
Fitzpatrick shouldn’t be starting. He’s better than Josh Rosen but with absolutely no upside. Still, it’s the Dolphins, so here we are.
26. Case Keenum (LW: 29)
Keenum can play a little bit. Hell, he was one game away from the Super Bowl two years ago. Think about that for a second. But on the Redskins? Yeah, the man has no chance.
25. Matt Moore (LW: 26)
Moore played well in his first start with the Chiefs. He led Kansas City to 24 points, completed two-thirds of his throws and didn’t turn the ball over. There was plenty for the Chiefs to be happy about from his performance, even in a loss.
24. Jameis Winston (LW: 24)
Three more turnovers.
23. Sam Darnold (LW: 23)
Seven interceptions in the last week. Takes talent to do that.
22. Baker Mayfield (LW: 22)
Mayfield is playing like the worst quarterback in football. He’s not lower on the list because everybody behind him is either a career backup or trending that way. Through seven games, Mayfield has six touchdown passes and 12 interceptions. It’s impossible to be that bad with Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry on the field with you.
