DraftKings NBA Centers:

Best Bets:

Embiid has faced Towns five times in his career and has averaged a double double against him. However, that’s still not good enough for a 50 DraftKings point per game average. As great as Towns has been this year, he still hasn’t done well against Embiid. The price is really high on both of them considering the matchup. I can see using Towns to be different, but I would only do it if you run multiple lines.

I’m not in love with Andre Drummond here either. This Toronto front is stout. Drummond’s usage is pretty high with Griffin out, but I think the Pistons are going to have to do work from the outside to have a chance. This front can handle Drummond. I’m actually fading the whole elite tier and I feel pretty good about it.

Honorable Mention:

I don’t like most of the middle tier at center either, but Myles Turner is playing the Nets. That counts for something. My issue with Turner is his inconsistency. We have seen him be dominant at times, then he disappears for a week. What will this game bring?

I want to like Hassan Whiteside against the Thunder, especially if Adams is out. The problem is that Cody Zeller and Tristan Thompson have run circles around Hassan and are both cheaper. I really like the matchup for Thompson and Zeller’s is pretty good too. I see no good reason to use Whiteside.

Dark Horses:

You can actually argue that Jarrett Allen was better off the bench for the Nets and you would be right. He put up 32.25 DraftKings points in 27 bench minutes, his high mark on the season. I would expect the Nets to run Allen off the bench for as long as he looks better in that role. That likely caps his upside, but Allen has a lot of potential. He can put up numbers in a hurry.

Allen coming off the bench actually has made DeAndre Jordan a good DFS play as well. Jordan is still only playing about half the game, but his elite rebounding has him producing around 6x value at this price.

It has been Omari Spellman, not Marquese Chriss, producing for the Warriors with Looney out. The issue here is the same as it always is for Warriors centers. The Warriors often go long stretches running Draymond at the 5. Spellman is a good enough athlete to run with them, so he’s worth the risk if you need to go really cheap.

The Kings ran Richaun Holmes big minutes on Monday and he dominated Denver. The Hornets aren’t a really good team up front. If the Kings run Holmes again, he could be outstanding again.
