6. Deion Sanders

With all due respect, and this is a sincere, non-Ricky Bobby with all due respect, to Jalen Ramsey, Deion Sanders is the greatest cornerback in Florida State history. For most Millenials, Sanders was the first professional player you knew. Not only would he take receivers out of the game, but he would also rip the ball away, and God help you if he didn’t fall while picking the ball off. He was so fast, so explosive, it’s amazing he never busted his cleats.

His swagger could get into the heads of opposing teams, and that bandanna look was iconic. Every good horror movie character needs an iconic look. Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees wear masks. Freddy Krueger has his stripes and his hat. Paul Finebaum always wears a shirt and tie, no matter how hot it is in the SEC falls. Thus is Deion Sanders and his bandanna. As frightening a look as there ever was.

Primetime is the only defensive player on this list. He earns a spot for his punt return prowess, and also for what he does after picking off a pass. That any team would willingly kick to Sanders is baffling. Kicking to Deion Sanders is like doing meth. Don’t. Do. It. Not only would he score, but he’d also make you look stupid in the process. Maybe just go for it on fourth instead. But don’t throw it. Matter of fact, just don’t play offense. Hope for a pick-six or a scoop and score.
