DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

The Pelicans haven’t said Jrue Holiday is on a minutes limit, so he should be good to go here. The issue is that Holiday only put up 29 DraftKings points in each of the first two games while playing 74 minutes. We can do better. Holiday is one of the few guys on DraftKings that is actually overpriced.

DeMar DeRozan has been overshadowed on the larger slates so far, but he’s still putting putting up over 5x value so far. On a small slate, he deserves consideration, though I don’t think there’s a lot of upside here.

Honorable Mention:

Lou Williams is definitely worth a look on the shorter slate. He was money with Kawhi out last night, but fortunately the prices were out before LouWill went nuts. You can still expect mid to high 30’s from Lou, but he has a firm ceiling with Kawhi on the floor.

How does it work that Tyler Herro has the best game of his young career the very same day that Butler makes his Miami debut? All in the smallest amount of court time. It defies logic, so I’m nervous about Herro. However, he was so good in the last game that we at least have to consider him on the small slate. That said, he’s not James Harden. Herro’s not getting to the line 16 times again.

Dark Horses:

We can roll the dice with Will Barton or Gary Harris again. Both worked out last time. Given the choice, I’ll go Barton. That said, I think I like Josh Hart over any Denver guard. Hart played very well with Holiday out, and was a big reason that Holiday’s production was down in the two games that Holiday did play. And you can still have Hart for $5,000. I love him at that price.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker had the best game of his career getting hot against the Warriors in limited minutes, so he’s going to be tempting as a cheap shot on a short slate. Don’t fall for this trap. Right now, the Warriors are the worst defensive team in the world at the professional basketball level. Denver is one of the best. NAW isn’t duplicating that feat here.
