A picture book of the Washington Nationals World Series triumph
By Sean Sears
The Nationals winning their first World Series title in franchise history is special on its own, but fans are going to be looking for some new screensavers and desktop backgrounds – we’ve got you covered.
One of the more entertaining World Series’ in a long time, both the Astros and Nationals put up an incredible fight. With teams coming from behind, sending former Cy Young winners to the mound almost every night, and it all ends with the Nats veterans combining with young studs like Juan Soto to bring home a title to D.C.
Fans lost their minds, players stormed the field and later sprayed each other silly with alcohol, and it all ends with a trophy and a parade soon coming to the D.C. area in the near future.
Here are the best photos we could round-up for all the Nationals fans wanting to relish their first title and nurse their hangout from last night.
The Nationals were having fun after months of hard work and resilience to push through their poor start to the season. But behind their elite group of starters, led by World Series MVP Stephen Strasburg and former Cy-Young winner Max Scherzer, manager Davey Martinez was able to bypass their struggling bullpen in the postseason.
Their veteran hitters like Anthony Rendon and Howie Kendrick continued to work through tough at-bats facing Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Zack Grienke multiple times. The now 21-year-old Juan Soto stared down every pitcher, exuding confidence, and was rewarded with his first “legal” beer drank out of a World Series trophy.
Enjoy the moment Nationals fans, no you ever know when you’ll be back again.
