Week 9 DFS fantasy football: Who to start and sit this Sunday
Week 9 of the NFL is here, but who should you start and sit if you want to win your fantasy matchup this week?
Quarterbacks to Start
Deshaun Watson (HOU) @ JAX
Since Week 4, Watson has been the best quarterback on the stat sheet for fantasy managers. He’s currently thrown for over 1,100 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for an additional three of his own as well. In standard leagues, Watson has had over 25.0 fantasy points in three of his last four games played. The only exception is when he struggled against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7. Watson appears to be on a role and the Texans are heading to Jacksonville to take on a tough divisional rival this week. Although Watson did not play well against the Jaguars in Week 2, that was before he got on a roll. I’m smell redemption this time around especially with playoff implications involved as well unlike in their previous go game.
Dak Prescott (DAL) @ NYG
Last time Prescott crossed paths with Big Blue he had a career day torching the Giants for 405 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Some may argue that it was because Dak was in Dallas, but he has really upped his game especially with a potential shiny new contract awaiting him on the horizon. The Giants’ defense has not looked good at all this season and their performance against quarterbacks are no exception. They have allowed the seventh-most passing yards to opposing arms, making Prescott a very attractive starting option this year. Try to ignore some of his hiccups from this year like his fairly recent outing against the Jets. It’s an anomaly, and you may regret it if you leave him on the bench this week.
Josh Allen (BUF) vs. WSH
The Washington Redskins are another team where if your quarterback is going up against them you should really consider plugging him into your lineup. This week the Bills mafia will welcome the hogs to their humble abode and it should be a good one…for Josh Allen that is. Allen hasn’t been particularly good this season, but in the games where he has played a bad defense he usually has made it a fairly productive game. Against the Giants in Week 2 he threw for 253 yards, a touchdown, and added a rushing touchdown as well. He also played well in Week 3 against Cincinnati throwing for 243 yards, a touchdown, an interception, and piling on 46 rushing yards of his own. Finally, Week 7 was another strong outing against a poor opponent in the Miami Dolphins where he threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Redskins are of the same defensive caliber as the Giants, Bengals and Dolphins, so I’m expecting a similar performance from him this week.
