The DraftKings showdown slate is one of the more unique game styles that you can pick from on DraftKings, and here’s who to win tonight.

When playing a showdown lineup you will notice that it is far different from a standard DraftKings contest. Instead of selecting a full roster of position players you have a Captain slot paired with five flex positions. The player you select as your Captain will score 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic but drafting a player as the Captain will cost you more salary than using them in your flex position. The DraftKings Showdown slate will consist of the same scoring as all other contests not counting the Captain bonus.

Some numbers to keep in mind when building lineups for your showdown slates. Last season the winning lineup had a running back or wide receiver in the Captain slot 71% of the time on the largest prize pool showdown contests.

All Captain selections are major flex considerations

DraftKings Showdown Slate GPP Builds: Ravens vs Patriots
Captain-

Lamar Jackson – $17,100

Lamar Jackson checks in as the highest-priced player on the slate and for good reason. Jackson has rushed for over 100 yards in three of his seven games this season (576) while adding another 1,650 passing. While the Patriots pass defense has been stingy this season, teams have found success on the ground as they have allowed 97 yards a game over the last three weeks which ranks 14th in the league. With two weeks to prepare, I would expect Baltimore to throw the kitchen sink at the Patriots.

The Ravens should have success on the ground and mix in some play-action shots for Jackson making him viable at Captain. Jackson will likely be the highest owned player on this slate but prefer to have him in at Flex and not Captain (10%).

Julian Edelman – $15,600

The one constant in the Patriots offense this season has been the play of Julian Edelman. He has played 87% of the teams snaps and has touched the ball 59 times (11%), the next closest Patriot is Phillip Dorsett at 54% of snaps. With Josh Gordon no longer on the roster, Edelman will lead the Patriots in targets again this week having had three straight weeks of 11 targets or more. While I am typically looking for very high ceiling players in showdown, you can play Edelman and his very high floor. I prefer to utilize him in my flex builds but will have 20% or so of Edelman in at Captain.

James White – $10,500

One player that is due for some positive touchdown regression is James White having just one touchdown on 65 touches this season. Much like Edelman, you know what you’re going to get out of White every week as he is likely to see 6-9 targets a game as he currently averages 7.4. I will also prefer to utilize White in my flex, but will have 15-20% of him in as my Captain should he capitalize in the red-zone.
