The Seattle Seahawks will travel to Levi’s Stadium in Week 10 for a Monday Night Football clash with the San Francisco 49ers that could completely shake up the NFC playoff picture.

Who saw the San Francisco 49ers being the NFC’s only undefeated team at the midway point of the 2019 NFL season? Robert Saleh’s defense, featuring a ravenous group of young pass rushers, has rivaled Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots unit as the league’s best, while the 49ers are moving the ball effectively with franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo under center.

But while the 49ers are undefeated, the Seattle Seahawks may be just as likely to make it all the way to the Super Bowl this season. That’s because they have the league’s MVP favorite in Russell Wilson, who engineered yet another improbable last-gasp victory in Week 9, orchestrating two game-winning drives to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 40-34 in overtime.

So when the Seahawks and 49ers finally face off in the 2019 season next week on Monday Night Football, this battle between NFC West juggernauts could decide – once and for all – which team is the best in the NFC.

Wilson and Garoppolo are far from the only major players in this game, though the spotlight will surely be on both star quarterbacks. Richard Sherman has plenty to fight for when facing his old team, as he’s been one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks since moving to San Francisco. The man is the clear leader in the 49ers secondary, forcing turnovers and shutting down top receivers.

However, shutting down the Seahawks wide receivers will be a tall order for even San Francisco’s defense. DK Metcalf is a monster coming off a clutch 120-yard outing against Tampa Bay, while Tyler Lockett has become one of the NFL’s best receivers and dropped a 13/152/2 line in Week 9. And if recent waiver acquisition Josh Gordon suits up next Monday, the 49ers will find it incredibly difficult to stop this dream trio surrounding Wilson.

Next. Trubisky is an absolute disaster in Chicago. dark

As for the 49ers, they have their fair share of talent on the offensive side of the ball, and their own stable of running backs is arguably better than the lauded one-two punch of Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny in Seattle. Matt Breida and Kyle Shanahan favorite Tevin Coleman are threats to have big games in any given week, while Raheem Mostert is an underrated change-of-pace back with the talent to burn the Seahawks defense.

But ultimately, this game could come down to the wire, where it will be a frenetic chess match between Wilson and Saleh’s vaunted defense. There are so many mini storylines worth grabbing onto, yet the overarching plot is simple. Whoever wins this game will emerge Week 10 as the NFC’s best team, and this could be another instant classic in this reignited NFC West rivalry.
