Updated NFL Draft order: Bengals, Redskins hold top picks
By John Buhler
And with the Miami Dolphins defeating the New York Jets, we have some changes to the 2020 NFL Draft order. Which teams will be picking where in the top 10?
So something happened we weren’t expecting to happen on NFL Sunday in Week 9. The hapless Miami Dolphins actually won a football game that counted. They defeated the division rival New York Jets at home to improve to 1-7 on the year. So naturally, this massively impacts the race for the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
As of now, only one team has yet to win a game this year. That would be the Cincinnati Bengals who are 0-8 and were just on their bye week after losing to the Los Angeles Rams over in London in Week 8. The Dolphins and Jets are in a group of four sad NFL teams with just a win apiece through nine weeks.
Here is the updated 2020 NFL Draft order through Sunday night.
Updated 2020 NFL Draft order top 10
- Cincinnati Bengals (0-8)
- Washington Redskins (1-8)
- Atlanta Falcons (1-7)
- New York Jets (1-7)
- Miami Dolphins (1-7)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-6)
- New York Giants (2-6)*
- Cleveland Browns (2-6)
- Denver Broncos (3-6)
- Chicago Bears (3-5) -> Las Vegas Raiders
Cincinnati has the No. 1 overall pick with the Washington Redskins coming in at No. 2 with a dreadful 1-8 record. The awful Atlanta Falcons would be drafting No. 3 overall, followed by the Jets at No. 4 and the Dolphins at No. 5. Combined, those five teams have gone 4-37. That’s just horrendous.
Picking at No. 6 would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are 2-6 through eight games. Depending on what happens on Monday Night Football, the New York Giants could be picking at No. 6 if they fall to the Dallas Cowboys in primetime. They could land at No. 8 if they win against Dallas. For now, they come in at No. 7 heading into their Week 9 game.
Rounding out the top 10 are the Cleveland Browns at No. 8 with a 2-6 record, the Denver Broncos at No. 9 with a 3-6 record and the Chicago Bears at No. 10 with a 3-5 record. Unfortunately for the Bears, that pick will belong to the Las Vegas Raiders, thanks to the Khalil Mack trade the Silver and Black made with the Monsters of the Midway before last season began. That’s rough for Chicago.

Are the Bengals destined to have their pick of the litter when it comes to drafting Andy Dalton‘s replacement in the Queen City? Will Miami still have a shot at landing a star signal caller, despite dropping from No. 1 to No. 5 this week? What are the Redskins and Falcons going to do? We’ll know all that in a few weeks. For now, they’re all terrible and their fanbases should be ashamed.
