College football is a great sport that provides entertainment for millions, potential paths to education and careers for student-athletes, and the framework for community development across the country. College football is a sport that is rich in history and tradition.

And, well, college football is also historically a sport that attracts and sometimes creates controversy and scandals.

From the NCAA not enabling student-athletes to be directly compensated for their likeness or their efforts and work on the playing field to coaches calling phone numbers linked to escort services, college football has probably seen just about every sort of scandal imaginable.

Seemingly each and every year, there’s always a new scandal that pops up. Some years are full of multiple scandals.

Of course, these scandals vary in their severity and type. It’s not always as severe as the moral and ethical failings of leaders. Sometimes it’s as simple as a player leaving a grocery store without paying for seafood.

Again, college football has seen just about everything.
