Hereās all the information and details you need to know in order to watch the first College Football Playoff rankings reveal show on ESPN.
The first College Football Playoff rankings will be unveiled tonight on ESPN. The rankings will be narrowed down to five likely candidates vying for inclusion in the four-team field. LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Penn State make up the top five teams in the latest AP Top 25 but there could be a different order when the playoff committee reveals their top four teams on ESPN tonight.
If youāre looking on your guide and wondering why you canāt find the College Football Playoff rankings show on ESPN, youāre not alone, but Iām here to help.
Unlike most weeks when ESPN will dedicate an entire hour of coverage to the rankings and the discussion that arises from the new rankings, ESPN will not have a dedicated show for the first unveiling.
With college basketball getting started today, there are a pair of marquee matchups on ESPN tonight, beginning at 7 p.m. ET with No. 3 Kansas vs. No. 4 Duke in the State Farm Champions Classic. That game will be followed by No. 1 Michigan State and No. 2 Kentucky.
In the middle of that will be the College Football Playoff rankings which will be revealed after the Kansas-Duke game, which should be around 9 p.m. ET.
Itāll be a quick 10-15 minutes for the College Football Playoff rankings but it will be enough time to see the order of the four teams and generate a bunch of new talking points about whether the committee got it right, what they got wrong, which teams can crack the top four and which school should have the biggest gripes with the committee.
I think the rankings will be LSU, Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson with Penn State and Georgia the first two teams out. And whoever wins Saturdayās game between LSU and Alabama on Saturday will be the No. 1 team next week regardless of what else happens among the top teams.
