Real Madrid face Galatasaray at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
For the second game in a row, Real Madrid and Galatasaray will play against each other. In the first game, Real escaped Istanbul with a 1-0 victory. In the second game, Real host Galatasaray at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite Real Madrid tying with Barcelona for first in La Liga and having lost only two games this season, manager Zinedine Zidane is on the hot seat. While Madrid are first in La Liga, they have dropped points in five of their 11 games. In the Champions League, Real have got off to a very poor start by their standard. Real are second in Group A with four points, losing to Paris Saint-Germain and settling for a disappointing draw with Club Brugge.
While Zidane might be on the hot seat, Real can move into a comfortable second place with another victory over Galatasaray. Toni Kroos scored the winning goal in the first game against their Turkish opponents. Kroos is second on Real Madrid with three goals this season, four behind Karim Benzema.
Galatasaray are last in Group A with only one point from their first three games. The Lions have also got off to a poor start in the Turkish Super Lig season. Galatasaray are seventh in the table after dropping points in six of their first 10 games of the season.
For most of the season, the Lions have struggled to defend and are unable to score enough goals to make up for their defensive shortcomings. Against a significantly more talented Madrid side, Galatasaray will likely play a heavily defensive game that will try to prevent Real from getting inside of the box. The Lions will try to catch Real too far forward and jump on the counter. Ryan Babel leads all Galatasaray players with four goals this season and will play a key role in the club’s attack on Wednesday.
