Red Star Belgrade face Tottenham at Rajko Mitic Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
For the second straight game in the Champions League group stage, Red Star Belgrade and Tottenham will play against each other. In the first game between the two clubs, Spurs smashed Red Star, winning 5-0. While the first game ended in a lopsided result, Wednesday’s game will likely determine which club advances to the round of 16. After three games, both teams trail first-place Bayern Munich. Tottenham are second in the group with four points, one point ahead of Red Star.
Red Star are first in the Serbian league and looking to advance out of the Champions League group stage for the first time since winning the European Cup in 1991. With Tottenham struggling this season, the Serbian side could pull an upset on Wednesday and move ahead of them in the group table. For Red Star to win, the club will need a strong performance from striker Milan Pavkov, who leads them with eight goals this season.
In the previous game against Red Star, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son scored braces. The two players will again be key in the Tottenham attack and have combined for 15 goals this season. While Kane and Son have played well this season, the same cannot be said for the rest of the Tottenham team. Spurs have dropped points in four straight Premier League games and sit 11th in the table. After reaching the Champions League final last season, manager Mauricio Pochettino has failed to get the best out of his club. If Tottenham fail to win on Wednesday, Pochettino could find himself on the hot seat.
