Running Backs to Start and Sit

Start:

Marlon Mack (IND) vs. MIA

The “Mack Attack” has been an up and down roller coaster all season long from the start. Some games he’ll look extremely efficient and others not so much. The upcoming matchup against Miami is perfect for any fantasy owners interested in starting Indianapolis’s running back for Sunday’s action. If I’m starting Mack this week, then I really like my chances for big things very much.

Melvin Gordon (LAC) @ OAK

I know some may say this is a little premature to say, but Melvin Gordon looked like his old self again on Sunday against the Packers. Maybe it’s the change in offensive coordinators, big everything seemed to return to normal for the Chargers’ back. On Sunday, Gordon rushed the ball 20 times for 80 yards and a pair of scores as Los Angeles shocked Green Bay. Now the Chargers will be taking on an old division foe in the Oakland Raiders on Thursday Night Football. While the Raiders have looked good at preventing the run recently, they have not faced a talent as special as Gordon’s in some time this season.

Sit:

Kenyan Drake (ARI) @ TB

Whatever we saw on Thursday night against the 49ers will probably not be a regular occurrence. Drake had quite an evening against San Francisco as he rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown last week. If David Johnson can find his way back on the field, Drake’s usage obviously incurs a serious hit. If Johnson doesn’t play though, I’m still not too confident that he will be productive. The Buccaneers have been pretty solid against the run and I don’t see Drake finding much success. I would look for other options at the running back position.
