Tight Ends to Start and Sit

Start:

George Kittle (SF) vs. SEA

Why anyone in their right mind would even consider George Kittle is straight-up blasphemy! Kittle has been a top-three tight end since 2018 and remains in that category to this day. The only reason why I am emphasizing to start Kittle is because of his Week 10 opponent which is the Seahawks. Seattle has not been very good against opposing tight ends this year as they have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game (8.89). It’s also important to note that the Seahawks have been pretty good against opposing receivers and running backs from having much success. With that said, it may behoove the 49ers offensive play-callers to zero in on Seattle’s weakness if they want to have a chance to remain as the only undefeated team in the NFL.

Hunter Henry (LAC) @ OAK

Since his return in Week 6 with a knee injury, Hunter Henry has been the best tight end in football. For the last four weeks, Henry has compiled 328 receiving yards along with a pair of touchdowns. It’s very impressive to see Henry performing so well after suffering a pretty big injury. The Raiders have also allowed the sixth-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends this season as well. The Chargers are in an almost must-win situation as they need to get this win to crawl back into the playoff picture. They will need to rely on Henry’s hot-streak to get them a much-needed victory on Thursday at the Black Hole.

Sit:

Kyle Rudolph (MIN) @ DAL

Rudolph hasn’t been much of a fantasy-relevant player in quite some time. At this very moment, he is TE36 averaging a meager 5.4 fantasy points per game. The Vikings have had their issues with the receiving end of the department this year. Last week exemplified that as Kirk Cousins barely targeted his top receiver Stefon Diggs, even after Adam Thielen exited the game with a hamstring injury. Throughout the game, Cousins was throwing to lesser-known receivers, causing much angst for anyone who was starting Diggs. Rudolph falls under this same category. Tight ends have traditionally been a quarterback’s favorite target, but not with Kirk Cousins. Don’t be fooled by the fact that Dallas hasn’t been too strong on defense against opposing tight ends. If you start Rudolph, I’m afraid you will be sorely disappointed with the end results.
