2. Aston Villa win at Wolves

One of three Sunday games sees Aston Villa travel to Molineux to face Wolves in a game which has the potential to go either way. Wolves haven’t been the dominant side that they were last season and they’ve struggled to put a good run together in the Premier League.

Aston Villa seem to have settled into Premier League life in recent weeks and were incredibly unlucky to lose to Liverpool last weekend – conceding two late goals to lose 2-1. That shows the fight that Dean Smith’s side have, as well as the belief in their ability. If they can perform like that for the majority of the season then they should stand a great chance of staying up.

Nuno’s Wolves are almost having a sophomore slump this season but they’re maintaining a reasonable level which suggests that they could put together a winning run at any point. This weekend would be a great opportunity to start as they host one of the promoted sides.

The only problem for Wolves is their involvement in the Europa League and the Thursday night games which make every other week a double gameweek for them. So far they’re handling it reasonably well but it’s definitely impacting their league form.

Nuno refuses to use their busier schedule as an excuse for poor performances but it’s hard to think that, at this stage, his side has only two wins this season considering how good they were last year.

Aston Villa should look to come out and hit Wolves quickly with a high press – hoping that their higher energy levels will lead to mistakes from the Black Country side. John McGinn and Jack Grealish will both net for Dean Smith’s side with Raul Jimenez bagging for the home side. That won’t be enough for Wolves though and Villa will win this game 2-1.
