1. Sadio Mane nets double as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2

The biggest game of the weekend is undoubtedly Manchester City’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool. Last season these two took their two-horse title race to new levels and inspired each other to unbelievable form.

Those runs of form have continued into this season and both sides are once again pushing each other to the limit. This was best demonstrated last week when both sides were 1-0 down in their matches but found ways to win with late goals.

Liverpool’s victory over Aston Villa was perhaps more emphatic but it’s clear that neither of these sides ever think they’re beaten. That’s what makes this game a mouth-watering proposition for soccer fans all over.

This fixture last season was a disappointingly cagey affair which Manchester City should have won had Riyad Mahrez not decided to send his late penalty into the Merseyside sky. This season it feels like this game could have a very different feel with both sides going at each other for the full 90 minutes.

It’s hard to imagine that both teams won’t score considering the attacking options they have. That should mean a high-scoring match but it’s hard to tell who will take all three points this weekend. The only big difference from last season is that Liverpool are playing with more grit and grinding out results which they might not have last year.

With that in mind, Liverpool will take this one and open up a nine-point gap between themselves and Manchester City atop the league table. Sadio Mane will bag a double for the Reds with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva scoring for City. Mo Salah will get the winner for Jurgen Klopp’s side and make all Liverpool fans believe that it’s finally their year to win the Premier League.
