There will be no upset picks for LSU takes on Alabama in college football Week 11 but five other teams aren’t as lucky and should be on upset alert.

The eyes of the college football world will turn to Tuscaloosa in Week 11. At Bryant-Denny Stadium, the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide will play host to the No. 2 LSU Tigers, two undefeated SEC titans that have aims not just for a College Football Playoff berth but a National Championship. Put simply, this is the game of the 2019 season and one that everyone should be tuning into.

While that may be true, there’s also no opportunity for an upset in the LSU-Alabama game. Given the Crimson Tide’s dominance under Nick Saban, a win for Ed Oregeron’s group in Tuscaloosa might ring as an upset to some. Then again, the lower-ranked Bama squad winning could be construed as an upset to others. With that kind of divide present, you simply can’t call this marquee matchup anything resembling an upset — it’s just a magnificent matchup.

As for the team that topped both LSU and Alabama in the initial College Football Playoff rankings, the Ohio State Buckeyes aren’t close to upset alert in Week 11. Ryan Day’s team has not only been dominant but they face the Maryland Terrapins in Columbus, a defense that Justin Fields and J.K. Dobbins should slice through like a hot knife through butter.

The other team in the top four of the first CFP rankings this season, the Penn State Nittany Lions, isn’t lucky enough to avoid being put on upset alert, though. They are favored as they head on the road to face the also undefeated Minnesota Golden Gophers but P.J. Fleck’s team has been underestimated all season long. If that happens again, they have the goods to take James Franklin’s group to the limit.

Penn State isn’t alone, though, as five other tasty conference matchups have other teams — all of which are ranked in the top 20, two in the top 10 — in danger of suffering a catastrophic loss this late in the regular season. Let’s dive into all of these matchups, looking at the five teams on upset alert in college football Week 11.
