AEW Dynamite recap for Nov. 6th, 2019: Shifting Gears
By Paul Bradley
AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite this week raises the stakes for the upcoming pay-per-view, Full Gear, and features another wild and chaotic clash of warring factions.
Making an Example
First up on the card is a match pitting “The Bastard” PAC against Trent.
The two men start off very even as PAC rolls to the floor to refocus. Orange Cassidy teases a confrontation with PAC but “The Bastard” slides back into the ring. Trent and PAC continue to jockey for position as PAC goes for a slingshot cutter and Trent counters it into a Northern Lights suplex.
PAC gains control and starts to work over Trent on the outside. PAC nails Trent with a Lawn Dart onto the guardrail and a tope dive. PAC grounds Trent and knocks him back to the floor as Cassidy rolls into the ring and faces off against PAC. Cassidy hits a few of sloth-like strikes before being dropped by a PAC pump kick.
This attack enrages Trent as he flies back into the ring and hits a lariat/half nelson suplex combo. Trent follows PAC out with a tope of his own as throws his opponent into the barricades. PAC counters an Irish whip but gets planted by a spear from Trent. Trent is feeling it and hits a running busaiku knee but only gets a two count on “The Bastard.”
Trent hits a massive lariat and a tornado DDT before being spiked on the floor by PAC. PAC goes in for the kill stroke and hits a Black Arrow, which the ref didn’t count as a pinfall even though Trent’s shoulders were down for the three count, and then locks in The Brutalizer for the submission victory.
PAC grabs the mic after the match and states that at Full Gear he is going to make an example out of “Hangman” Adam Page
PAC and Trent put on a fun and hard-hitting match that elevated Trent as well as added to PAC’s ever-rising stock in the company. The finish was rough but can be forgiven as it just seemed like a basic miscommunication.
