AEW Power Rankings: Week of Nov. 6, 2019
This week’s AEW Power Rankings feature champions on top and a closer look at who is on the rise in the men’s, women’s and tag team divisions.
This week’s Dynamite was the go home show before the Full Gear on Saturday. There was a tag team match with the winner getting added to the Tag Team Championship bout on the pay-per-view. Several of the matches featured wrestlers who will be featured on Saturday night. Dark had a much anticipated tag team in the women’s match and a match announcement for Full Gear.
With another packed week, here’s how everyone landed on the AEW Power Rankings.
Men’s Division
No. 1: Chris Jericho (last week: 1)
“Le Champion” still sits atop the men’s division after winning his tag match with Sammy Guevara against Kenny Omega and Hangman Page. There was also an excellent video package that the internet loved. He has momentum going into his title defense at Full Gear.
No. 2: Cody (last week: 2)
Cody was finally able to deliver the promo he was denied last week. It was the most emotional promo thus far in AEW’s young history. It will likely be talked about for years to come. Cody announced that if he loses to Jericho, it will be his last shot at the AEW World Championship.
No. 3- PAC (last week: unranked)
PAC faced off against Trent? on Dynamite to kick off the show and moved to three wins. Later in the show, he hit a low-blow on Hangman Page in the main event so that Jericho could get the pin with the Judas Effect.
No. 4- Shawn Spears (last week: unranked)
The self-appointed “Chairman” had matches on Dark and Dynamite and was victorious in both. He will face Joey Janela at Full Gear.
No. 5-Sammy Guevara (last week: 4)
Guevara tagged with Inner Circle leader, Chris Jericho, in the main event against Omega and Page. The “Spanish God” is 2-0 in tag matches (and 1-0 in trios), but winless as a singles competitor.
No. 6-Joey Janela (last week: unranked)
“The Bad Boy” teamed up with rival Jimmy Havoc against Jungle Express on Dark. Janela stapled his partner’s head and also picked up the win. On Dynamite, Janela came to Brandon Cutler’s rescue when Spears started to attack him after he beat him. These two were raring to go ahead of their match at Full Gear.
No. 7- Trent? (last week: unranked)
Trent? had his first singles match against PAC. Although he lost to “The Bastard,” he had an excellent showing. Orange Cassidy tried to assist, but to no avail.
No. 8- Jimmy Havoc (last week: 9)
Jimmy Havoc was on the winning team with Joey Janela against Jungle Express, even though he took a staple to the head from his own partner. Havoc was also featured on Dark’s “Undesirable to Undeniable” segment.
No. 9- Adam “Hangman” Page (last week: 3)
Page and Omega took on Jericho and Guevara in a match billed at The Elite vs. Inner Circle. Page was closing in on victory when his nemesis, PAC, hit him below the belt and cost him the match. Page will get a shot at revenge at Full Gear.
No. 10- Kenny Omega (last week: 5)
See above. The pair were on track for a win before Page’s nemesis, PAC got involved and cost them the match. After the match, all hell broke loose between the factions. Even Omega’s Full Gear opponent, Jon Moxley, got involved.
