The LSU Tigers snapped their losing streak to the Alabama Crimson Tide, as Ed Orgeron and the Bayou Bengals ended Nick Saban and his dreaded voodoo curse.

This is America. You’re allowed to believe whatever you want. So we’re choosing to believe in the power of dark magic. What else can explain the end of the Les Miles era in Baton Rouge, as well as the LSU Tigers losing eight games in a row to the Alabama Crimson Tide? Well, that voodoo curse cast by Nick Saban after the Game of the Century of 2011 came to an end tonight, as LSU conquered it.

For the first time since Nov. 5, 2011, the Bayou Bengals can say they rolled the Tide. It didn’t happen in Death Valley, as Ed Orgeron’s team went into the SEC Death Star and essentially ended the Evil Empire’s College Football Playoff dreams. Every year, regardless of if they won the SEC or not, Alabama was there to play more likely than not the Clemson Tigers. But not today, not this year.

Coach O improved to 8-1 in his last nine games against top-10 teams.

With the power of two Joes (Burrow and Brady) and one Coach O, LSU handed Alabama its first SEC home loss since 2015. This wasn’t a Hugh Freeze getting away with stuff Ole Miss Rebels team. Nowhere was a Johnny Football to be found. Instead, we got a Heisman Trophy performance out of Joe Burrow and the greatest moment in both Joe Brady and Orgeron’s coaching careers.

This was the fourth top-10 team that Coach O’s team has beaten this season. They messed with the Texas Longhorns, they chomped the Florida Gators and the survived the Thunderdome that is the Tiger Bowl with the Auburn Tigers. And that was all done before tonight’s biggest and most important win of the season for anybody anywhere.

We can’t say the dynasty is dead for sure, but Coach O is the greatest giant-slayer the college football world has ever seen this century. Born on the Bayou, Born Under a Bad Sign, that doesn’t matter one bit. There has never been a coach like Orgeron and LSU has never had a quarterback like Burrow. Together, it’s the greatest Cajun combination since red beans and rice.

That’s right. We went there. It’s a bold statement, but this is LSU football we’re talking about. Not only is it DBU, but it’ll be home to the next Heisman Trophy winner. LSU doesn’t have time for hexes. No longer will its former head coach stand as its perpetual menace. No longer will there be any obstacles for LSU to get back to Atlanta.

If this game was played in Baton Rouge, you’d think it was Mardi Gras or something. But this is even better because LSU just handed Alabama a most fatal defeat. Saban can’t put another hex on the Selection Committee by saying Auburn is the greatest 8-4 team of all time and that Alabama deserves a spot in the College Football Playoff as a one-loss non-conference champion.

Well, Saturday was a day that half of the top-four teams decided to lose. No. 17 Minnesota beat No. 4 Penn State in the Twin Cities. And now LSU found the Eye of the Tiger and hammered Bama to essentially clinch the SEC West.

As Coach O would say, “Geaux Tigers!”
