Showdown Slate Coverage
Thursday, November 21st
Indianapolis Colts versus Houston Texans
Both teams come in to this game holding a 6-4 record, fighting for first place in the AFC South. On the injury side of things, Marlon Mack is already ruled out while T.Y. Hilton, Paris Campbell, Eric Ebron, Mo Alie-Cox, and Jordan Wilkins are all holding the questionable tag. On the Houston Texans side of things, we just have Will Fuller V with the questionable tag.
This showdown slate will provide salary saving plays on the Indianapolis Colts side of things with Zach Paschal and even Marcus Johnson depending on T.Y. Hilton’s status before game time. Houston Texans will draw the ownership, but the play at captain will change everything as many will look at DeAndre Hopkins and DeShaun Watson which leaves Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson with lower ownership at the position.
Sunday, Night Football
Green Bay Packers versus San Francisco 49ers
This was originally slated as an afternoon match up, but the NFL decided to flex this game to Sunday Night due to the playoff implications it may have. Both teams are fighting for that first round bye as the San Francisco 49ers hold the lead in the NFC West while Green Bay leads their division in the North.
The Green Bay Packers are currently coming into this game with a clean bill of health as no players hold an injury tag. That may change as practices go on throughout the week, but nothing too serious to be concerned with. The main concern with the San Francisco 49ers is their tight end, George Kittle, who has been battling a knee and ankle injury for the past two weeks. Matt Brieda and Deebo Samuel also carry questionable tags, but Brieda will be the one to monitor mainly with George Kittle.
Plays to target in this game may vary as pricing is not out at the moment. The running back situation in San Francisco is hard to gauge as every back can be involved every play. Wide Receiver wise Deebo Samuel has put up back to back performances with 22.2 and 24.4 fantasy points on the 49ers end. Valdes-Scantling could be the dark horse to win someone a GPP, but the targets have not been there at all this season. With the tight end position it becomes either Kittle or risk as Dwelley had a huge game versus Arizona and Jimmy Graham is hit or miss every week.
The safe bet as usual is Aaron Rodgers, but he has had poor performances recently with 12.94 and 10.02 fantasy points. The other is DeVante Adams, who has been above 10 or more fantasy points in his last three games. Emmanuel Sanders may also go overlooked as captain as he has been battling a rib injury while putting up two poor performances of 4.4 fantasy points versus Seattle and 6.3 fantasy points versus Arizona.
Monday Night Football
Baltimore Ravens versus Los Angeles Rams
Another major game for Monday Night Football is hopeful MVP candidate Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens versus the struggling Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are fighting to keep their playoffs and wildcard dreams alive, but their offense has yet to figure out how to function like the previous seasons. With Robert Woods and Brandon Cooks holding questionable tags, there leaves very little help in the passing game for Jared Goff. Cooper Kupp will draw major ownership while Reynolds may go low owned but for good reason.
Lamar Jackson will hold the highest ownership as he has had two monster performances back to back with 33.42 and 33.48 fantasy points. When it comes to the low owned plays for the NFL DFS Showdown slate, Willie Snead IV should give a boost to your lineup with low ownership. The targets aren’t there for Snead but all we need is one big play to boost his game log.
Marquise Brown had a poor performance versus the Houston Texans, but has shown he is one of Jackson’s favorite weapons to target on the field. Mark Andrews will be the next in line for heavy ownership but that’s due to his good relationship with Jackson. He has now put up two huge games after a few down performances. Andrews recorded 17.5 versus Houston last week and 23.3 fantasy points versus Cincinnati the prior week.
The Baltimore Ravens will gain more ownership in the game but finding the value with Willie Snead and Josh Reynolds may put you in a position for a possible take-down.
