Five of the best combat sports movies to watch after feasting this holiday season.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it is important to keep the fighting spirit going throughout the holidays. This is why there must be a fight marathon after the big feast. These are the five combat sports movies to watch after feasting.

Warrior

There’s nothing like a good old fight between siblings. Warrior exceeds expectations for fight fans as we see Tom Hardy go at it inside an MMA ring with his older brother who is played by Nick Nolte. In the film, Hardy is an ex-marine with PTSD and his brother is an alcoholic and an elementary school teacher. The two aren’t that close but are forced to collide when they enter into an MMA tournament to see who is the baddest fighter in the world and the tougher brother as well.

Rocky

This boxing movie screams instant classic. This is one of Sylvester Stallone’s breakthrough movies which inspired so many combat sports movies over the years like Creed starring Michael B. Jordan. Rocky Balboa is a Philly born and raised badass who leaves the streets and takes up a fight against an undefeated boxer named Apollo Creed. The two come head to head in a boxing match where Rocky must prove if he is really worth fighting such an intimidating opponent. In the midst of it all, Rocky falls in love and must handle dealing with both situations at once. The fighting and love story helped shape Stallone as one of the greatest actors of the 70s and makes for Rocky to be one of the biggest classics of the century.

Here Comes The Boom

If your looking to watch a fight and laugh your ass off at the same time, look no further than Here Comes the Boom. Scott Voss played by Kevin James does an outstanding job maintaining a teaching job and MMA fighter role at the same time. When his school begins to cut back on programs, Scott uses his old wrestling skills to try to earn some money for the school by entering an MMA competition. With his back against the wall and all of his students depending on him, Voss trains to win it all for his beloved high school.

Karate Kid (2010)

Many movie fans probably never knew that their favorite Karate Kid was Will Smith’s youngest son, Jaden Smith. In this drama, Dre Parker (Smith) has to adjust to moving to a completely different environment when his mother had to move to China. He felt like a total stranger and the kids in school treated him as such. With bullying being his main problem, Parker meets Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) who helps him learn the art that is Karate and he finally learns how to defend himself.

Southpaw

Everyone loves Jake Gyllenhaal and in Southpaw, we feel for him more than ever. When the light heavyweight champion of the world Billy “The Great” Hope loses his wife to a fatal accident and has to give up his daughter to protective services, his life begins to crash in front of him making him lose everything he ever had and wanted. Billy finds a new trainer to help him get back into boxing but for a different purpose this time. He must fight to win it all back.
