Fantasy Football 2019 Week 13 Waiver Wire Adds
By Bill Pivetz
The final week of the fantasy football regular season is here. In a final attempt to make the playoffs, these eight players are worth picking up.
Here we are. The final week of the fantasy football regular season. We saw a few players solidify themselves as must-owns heading into the fantasy playoffs. We can no longer ignore what they are doing on the field. If you are sniffing the playoffs, this is the final week to make a move to push you up in the standings.
Week 12 was a big week for players that are not owned in a lot of leagues. At this point in the season, those players are hard to find. With the bye weeks over and most teams at full strength, making room for the fringe players is hard to do.
However, with the matchups coming up this week, those players may be able to win you one final game before the fantasy playoffs. Looking at the performances of some of the top stars, you may want to risk your playoff hopes on some of these waiver wire picks.

For this post, I have provided two quarterbacks, two running backs, two wide receivers, one tight end and one defense. All eight players will be owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues.
Spoiler: This post is going to feature a lot of Jets players.
Sam Darnold
I’ve mentioned Darnold as a potential waiver wire add for weeks. And yet, he’s still available in over 80 percent of ESPN leagues. Maybe after the performance he had in week 12 and his matchup in week 13, his ownership will rise.
Over the last three weeks, Darnold has 838 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, one interception and two rushing scores. He put up a season-high 28.2 fantasy points. Up next for Darnold and the Jets is the 0-11 Bengals.
With Robby Anderson, Jamison Crowder, Demaryius Thomas, Ryan Griffin and Le’Veon Bell, Darnold should be able to put up 30 fantasy points.
Ryan Tannehill
Tannehill is another quarterback that has been overlooked over the last few weeks. He has 771 yards, five passing touchdowns, two picks and three rushing touchdowns in his last three games. He is available in just about 85 percent of leagues.
While the Colts’ passing defense is average, Tannehill will be able to put up another 20-plus scoring game. He has the big-play ability of A.J. Brown (more on him later) and Derrick Henry to balance the offense. If you miss out on Darnold, Tannehill is a good backup option.
Jonathan Williams
I recommended Williams in my waiver wire piece last week and he delivered big time. He was the sixth-highest scoring running back based on PPR scoring. He racked up 104 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries along with three catches for 17 yards.
Nyheim Hynes finished with 8.1 points and Jordan Wilkins was absent from the box score. Williams is once again the lead back for the Colts heading into week 13.
The Titans rank 21st in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Williams saw a big increase in his ownership percentage but is still available in about 70 percent of leagues.
Benny Snell Jr.
Snell is the deep sleeper on the list. James Conner was ruled out for week 12, which led many to believe a big game for Jaylen Samuels was coming. That was not the case. He rushed twice for six yards and caught three passes for 26 yards.
Snell came out of nowhere with 21 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown. The Steelers offense may look a little different with Delvin Hodges under center and JuJu Smith-Schuster questionable for the week.
Cole Beasley
Beasley has been a PPR mainstay this season. Him and John Brown have been Josh Allen‘s most trusted weapons in the offense. Beasley has scored at least 10 points in seven of his 11 games this season.
The upcoming matchup against the Cowboys may not be ideal, but the Bills offense has been solid against tough defenses, and the Dallas defense has allowed opposing wide receivers to score at least 36 points in back-to-back weeks.
A.J. Brown
Brown had his second-best game of the season last week with four catches, 135 yards and a touchdown. He scored 24.4 points in week 4 against Atlanta. The reemergence of Tannehill has helped not only Brown but the rest of the Titans offense.
While he may not be as consistent as some other receivers, the big-play ability puts him above the other wide receivers on the waiver wire.
Ryan Griffin
Griffin is another player I mentioned last week and is still worth picking up this week. He’s been a reliable target for Darnold over the last few weeks. He’s scored at least 10 fantasy points in five of the last seven games.
The tight end position has settled down over the past couple of weeks. We know who the top 10 tight ends are, but Griffin is working his way up to that group. A solid game against the Bengals could lead the Jets and your fantasy team to the playoffs.
NYJ D/ST
The last Jets player on the waiver wire list is the defense. They have scored 18, 11 and 17 points in their last three weeks. The Bengals made another switch at quarterback, bringing Andy Dalton back into the fold. I don’t think that will make much of a difference.
In his last three games. Dalton threw for an average of 280 yards with two touchdowns, four interceptions and two rushing touchdowns. The lack of game action could lead to some turnovers for the Jets.
With the fantasy football playoffs right around the corner, there is no time to wait. Make a move and hope for the best in week 13. Good luck in your final regular-season game.
