NBA Thanksgiving 2019: What each team has to be thankful for
Atlanta Hawks
The Trae Young Show
John Collins is still serving his 25-game suspension, Cam Reddish is shooting 21.4 percent from 3 and at 4-13, the Atlanta Hawks hardly look like the dark horse playoff team they were billed to be. Thank goodness they’ve got Trae Young to keep them watchable.
Early in his second NBA season, Young is living up to the superstar standard he established in the second half of his rookie year. He’s averaging 26.6 points, 8.7 assists and a low-key impressive 4.5 rebounds per game as a 6’1″ guard.
His range remains ridiculous as well, since he’s shooting 35.8 percent from 3 on a whopping 8.6 attempts per game. Between his jaw-dropping passes and microwave scoring, the Hawks obviously have their next franchise star. Now they just have to build around him correctly.
