Most stores end up being open on Thursday evening as Black Friday encroaches more and more on the thankful holiday, but is Walgreens open before then?
Walgreens has it all. Magazines, toys, boxed food, drinks, over the counter medicine. Pretty much everything you’ll need to deal with in-laws, that last second self-invited friend who just popped by and of course that annoying cousin who won’t shut the hell up about how much better for the environment veganism is. No one cares, Todd.
Hey, whatever reason you may have for going to Walgreens at two in the afternoon isn’t important. Maybe you need Stove Top stuffing, or you’re looking for the perfect sugary drink to pair with the kid’s table. Heck, maybe you’re just tired of your mother nagging you for your mashed potatoes being too “lumpy” and you want to find just 20 minutes where no one is screaming in your ear.
Most Walgreens are open, not just on Thanksgiving, but all year round. So if you need a last-second distraction for a child in need, or just a magazine to read while the family shuffles about, perfect. That being said, should you need something from the pharmacy then you might be out of luck. The pharmacy hours on holidays vary from store to store, so it’s best to call ahead and find out what their situation is for the day.
They won’t carry things like turkey, so if you’re looking for a last-minute option to replace a burnt bird then you’re going to be out of luck. They will have some frozen dinners for those desperate to throw something together. It’s not ideal but at least it’s something and it’s best to remember that on Thanksgiving, it’s about what you have – not what you’re lacking.
