Does mail from the US Post Office get delivered on Black Friday?

Are you really eager for that phone bill to come in the mail? Just kidding you’re probably waiting for a paycheck, a letter from your pen pal abroad or that ever-popular, Victoria Secret catalog. Or, more likely, something you ordered from Amazon Prime on Thursday. You’re in luck, there will be mail delivered, via the United States Post Office, on Black Friday. After all, it’s not a national holiday.

Services outside of the USPS will also offer their normal shipping routes on Friday, Nov. 29. So if you prefer to ship via UPS or FedEx, you’re in luck, they will be open. As will the shipping stores and post offices if you need to buy stamps, packing supplies or just want to go chat it up with the counter clerk (they might be lonely).

So if you ordered a DVD of Elf on Thursday you may get it Friday, so keep hitting refresh on your Amazon order delivery status, you might just get some good news. Also, why don’t you already own that DVD?

In the future, the only days that the USPS will also not be delivering mail are Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day and the Fourth of July. I think we can survive without some mail for one day, right?

Check the hours for your local post office because those will vary, but typically run about 8 a.m until 5 p.m on the regular.

Enjoy your holidays!
