NFL DFS bargain bin: Thanksgiving Day slates
NFL DFS bargain bin: Thanksgiving Day QBs/RBs
Quarterback
Mitchell Trubisky, CHI at DET
(DraftKings-$5,300/FanDuel- $6,800/FantasyDraft-$10,900/Yahoo-$23)
Naturally, the Lions’ David Blough will be the cheapest quarterback on the slate by far. However, he represents a sizable risk as an undrafted rookie taking his first NFL snaps against a Bears defense that undoubtedly will smell blood in the water. Meanwhile, Trubisky, while not normally an inspired value choice on a full slate, because a lot more appealing on a three-game ledger.
What’s more, the embattled third-quarterback hasn’t necessarily been unproductive relative to salary recently. Trubisky has scored 20 more DK/FantasyDraft and FanDuel points on three occasions this season, and he’ll face a Lions defense he tallied 19.7 DK and FanDuel points against in Week 10. Detroit comes in allowing 22.7 DK/FantasyDraft and 20.7 FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks on the season, along with a 22:4 TD:INT. Moreover, they’ve surrendered 4.9 yards per rush to QBs, certainly relevant when considering Trubisky’s mobility.
Running Back
Tarik Cohen, CHI at DET (DraftKings-$5,000/FanDuel-$6,400/FantasyDraft-$9,800/Yahoo-$16)
Cohen is coming off a nine-target game, and he’d logged between four and six looks in the passing game in three games prior as well. The versatile running back is almost guaranteed to be limited to single-digit carries, but given the Lions have allowed the most receiving touchdowns to running backs (seven) and a 57-638 line through the air to the position overall, he’s certainly makes for an intriguing way to try and exploit that weakness.
Detroit has also yielded 4.2 yards per carry and 10 rushing touchdowns to running backs, with the latter figure tying the Lions for the third-highest figure in the league in that category. The Lions allow the second-most DK/FantasyDraft (30.7) and FanDuel (26.9) points per game to backs as well, enhancing Cohen’s candidacy.
