7. Steve Addazio – Boston College

Speaking of change of scenery, Boston College has desperately needed one for some time now. It feels like every year under Steve Addazio, the Eagles hover around just making bowl eligibility and it comes down to the last couple weeks of the season.

In fact, just look to Addazio’s record at Boston College to prove that he’s the ultimate .500 coach. He’s literally the Jeff Fisher of college football head coaches.

Addazio is 43-44 in six seasons with the Eagles and 56-55 all-time as a head coach in his career. It’s beyond safe to say that Boston College and everyone knows what they’re getting each season with him.

So, as long as the Eagles want to just play .500 ball each season and are content with it, they will keep Addazio as their head coach. Even if Boston College wins its last game of the season to become bowl eligible, it’s probably time they move on.

Playing in the same division as Clemson isn’t easy, but the Eagles have to aspire for more than a perpetual cycle of mediocrity. It’s almost remarkable how consistent they are at reaching the .500 mark.
