3. Ohio State Buckeyes

Rank: 1 | Opponent: 13 Michigan Wolverines | Time: Saturday, Nov. 30, Noon ET

Prior to last week, no team in college football looked quite as dominant as the Ohio State Buckeyes. They were seemingly winning every game by at least 30 points, showcasing one of the most prolific offenses in the country and a defense loaded with NFL-caliber talent and playing like it. Last week against Penn State, their biggest test to date, they showed that they are not a perfect club, though.

Despite being able to move the ball with Justin Fields and J.K. Dobbins still and with Chase Young wreaking havoc in his return, the Buckeyes were only able to secure an 11-point win over a Penn State team that lost their starting quarterback midway through the contest. The Nittany Lions were able to muck up the game, force turnovers and limit the explosiveness of Ohio State to make it a closer game.

On Saturday, the Buckeyes now head to the Big House for their annual date with the Michigan Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh’s team is playing better than anyone seems to realize right now. Since a seven-point loss to Penn State, the Wolverines have won every game by at least 25 points, including wins over Notre Dame, Michigan State and a frisky Indiana team.

Michigan’s offense has some juice if Shea Patterson and a talented group of wide receivers get going. However, they want to ugly up the game in the same way that Penn State was able to do in the second half last week. The Wolverines are capable of doing just that and, if they do, Harbaugh could end his losing streak and finally pick up a win against his team’s biggest rival.
