DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

James Harden ($12,500): The real question here is whether Harden is $1200 better than Luka. Harden hasn’t faced the Spurs this year, but in the last meeting against them last year he put up 61 actual points. We know that Harden’s ceiling his higher. He racked up 85.25 DraftKings points in just 31 minutes against the Hawks on Saturday. I would lean towards Harden tonight simply because there is a blowout risk with Dallas and New Orleans. Luka is fine for GPP purposes though.

Brad Beal ($8,600): Orlando is pretty tough on guards, but it didn’t matter the first time around. Beal lit up the Magic for 56.5 DraftKings points in what was a high scoring game. Washington will try and pace up the Magic again, and that all falls on Beal. He could be in for another big game if successful.

Honorable Mention:

DeMar DeRozan ($7,200): The LMA-less Spurs got lit up by Detroit on Sunday, but DeRozan still put up 30.5 DraftKings points in 25 minutes. His production lately has been exactly what we want from this price range. DDR is hovering just above 5x value. There’s no crazy upside here, but he’s a solid play in the mid range and you know exactly what you’re getting.

Lou Williams ($6,400): Portland’s guard defense still isn’t good. Case in point: LouWill torched them for 46.75 DraftKings points in just 28 minutes earlier this year and he was just 7-16 from the floor. Williams has become more reliant on getting to the line, but that also means his value is more volatile than usual. I don’t know that I would use him in cash games, but for GPP at this price, Williams is a gold mine if he hits.

Luke Kennard ($5,900): The absence of Jackson and the limits of Blake’s minutes have led to Kennard keeping up his strong start to the season. This may not go on forever, but Kennard is getting heavy minutes and being leaned upon for scoring when Rose and Griffin aren’t on the court. Kennard is a strong play since he has a well defined role for the Pistons now.

Dark Horses:

Derrick Rose ($5,500): Rose is still putting up good numbers off the bench, but it does limit his overall value, especially in DFS. That said, the price does reflect that. We don’t draft a guy at this price hoping he’ll get us 50. We’re looking for mid-30’s, and Rose can still do that in the half game per night that he plays. Rose picked up 10 assists in 19 minutes against the Spurs on Sunday. He is still a strong overall player.

Terrence Ross ($5,100): Ross is getting good minutes for the Magic right now and he has a great matchup with the Wizards. Ross is mostly a scorer, so this is the right time to use him against a team that gives up points like the Wizards do. He put up 26 DraftKings points in 24 minutes in the first meeting. I would expect somewhere in that area again tonight.

Ben McLemore ($5,100): McLemore lit up the Hawks for 47.75 DraftKings points starting in place of House on Saturday. If House is still out, McLemore is a strong play once again. However, that massive line has to be taken with a grain of salt. The game was put away early. The Spurs are going to provide better defense and more resistance, so expect McLemore’s line to be around 30 DraftKings points, which is still good for the price.
