NFL quarterback rankings, Week 14: Josh Allen makes a statement
Vinny Testaverde Division
21. Jameis Winston (LW: 25)
Winston had a rare game on Sunday. No turnovers, no touchdowns. Yet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rolled to a 28-11 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Winston still turns the ball over far too often, but he’s making strides this year.
20. Carson Wentz (LW: 21)
Wentz threw for more than 300 yards, but the Eagles lost. He moves up a spot because Wentz wasn’t the problem in defeat, and we’d be liars to say otherwise. The upcoming class of rookie receivers is incredibly talented. The Eagles better take a few.
19. Baker Mayfield (LW: 19)
For all the headlines this offseason, Mayfield has been a disappointment to say the least this season. In a must-win game against Pittsburgh, the second-year man threw for 196 yards (6.1 YPA) and launched the season-ending interception to former Browns star, Joe Haden.
18. Sam Darnold (LW: 18)
Darnold and the New York Jets laid the biggest egg of the season, losing 22-6 to the previously-winless Bengals. Cincinnati has a terrible defense, and yet Darnold threw for only 239 yards 48 attempts.
17. Jared Goff (LW: 20)
Goff finally had a terrific game. Playing a well-rested Arizona Cardinals team, Goff shredded the home side for 424 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 34-7 win for the Los Angeles Rams. Goff’s performance keeps them alive in the NFC playoff picture.
