By Serena Burks
WWE Friday Night Smackdown’s weekly power rankings. We rank the top superstars in each division.
WWE Friday Night Smackdown saw the return of the Goddess, Alexa Bliss, and the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus. Both superstars get a nod on their respective division’s list, which sees both divisions get shaken up. Keep reading to learn who made the top 10 and who got left off!
Tag Team Division
- The New Day – The Smackdown Tag Team Champions issued an open challenge this week, which was answered by Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro. Kofi Kingston and Big E had no problem dispatching of the other team, and stay at the top.
- Robert Roode/Dolph Ziggler – While they didn’t have a tag team match on Friday, Roode performed in a singles match against Roman Reigns. He lost, but being that no other tag teams had matches, they stay in the second spot.
- The Revival – The Revival didn’t have a match this week, but their talent keeps them in the third spot. They’ll show back up/
- Heavy Machinery – Otis and Tucker need to find a way to redeem themselves after their Survivor Series performance, but since they haven’t had a match, they stay in fourth.
- Lucha House Party/B Team – Until another tag team shows up in the ring, these two can share the fifth spot in the tag team power rankings.
Women’s Division
- Bayley – As the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Bayley stays at the top of the list even though she didn’t appear in a match this week.
- Sasha Banks – She wasn’t in a match, but she appeared in the ring with Bayley to address the Smackdown women’s division. Her talent alone keeps her in the second spot.
- Lacey Evans – Lacey is soon going to be the locker room leader after she came out and addressed Sasha and Bayley in the ring on Friday. She’s one of the few who isn’t afraid to voice her opinion.
- Nikki Cross – Nikki competed against and defeated Sonya Deville, a much-needed victory after several losses. She moves up the list with the win, and her backup returning to action.
- Alexa Bliss – The Goddess has returned! She didn’t have a match, but she came out and defended her best friend when Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose were attacking Nikki after Cross won her match.
- Sonya Deville – Sonya was defeated by Nikki Cross, but she competed in a match that puts her above her tag team partner. A win would have seen her move up more.
- Mandy Rose – Rose hung out at ringside during Deville’s loss to Nikki Cross, so she falls below her partner this week.
- Carmella – Carmella wasn’t in a match on Friday, but she’s still active and uninjured, so she remains on the list. She falls due to not performing.
- Dana Brooke – Brooke also falls due to not having a match. She will flex her way back up the rankings once she gets a win.
- Tamina – Where oh where is Tamina? She hasn’t been seen for a while but retains her spot mostly because there isn’t anyone else to put here.
Men’s Division
- The Fiend, Bray Wyatt – The Fiend showed up to sneak-attack Daniel Bryan on Friday after Bryan agreed to a rematch. As champion, he retains his number one spot.
- Roman Reigns – Reigns faced Robert Roode on Friday, which means he also faced Dolph Ziggler and King Corbin. But Reigns handled business in a decisive way and remains at number two.
- Mustafa Ali – Ali faced Drew Gulak in the ring on Friday and earned himself a victory, moving him up the list. Often the underdog, Ali can retain this spot if he continues to win.
- Daniel Bryan – He didn’t appear in a match, which normally would see a star fall on the list, but Bryan showed us what he’s made of by accepting The Fiend’s challenge. He’s got guts, so he moved up.
- Shinsuke Nakamura – Nakamura teamed up with Cesaro to answer The New Day’s open challenge. The two ultimately lost, which moves them down the list.
- Cesaro – Cesaro took part in the loss to The New Day with Shinsuke Nakamura. Getting in the ring earns him a spot back on the list.
- Drew Gulak – Drew lost his match to Mustafa Ali, but he earns a spot back on the list for having a match in general.
- King Corbin – Corbin did what he always does, he instigates and runs. On Friday, Roman Reigns showed him why that is a mistake, which is why Corbin falls.
- Braun Strowman – He wasn’t in the ring this week, but Strowman deserves a spot on this list based on talent alone. When he has another match, he’s likely to move up.
- Sheamus – The Celtic Warrior has returned! Friday Night Smackdown has missed Sheamus, and his return alone earns him a spot on this list. The real question is, is The Bar back?
