With Championship Weekend upon us, what time will the final revealing of the College Football Playoff Rankings be released for the 2019 NCAA season?

There are only seven teams still left in the race. All seven will be playing this weekend in college football on Championship Weekend. Upon completion of the conference championship games, four teams will have earned the right to play in the 2020 College Football Playoff. Who will be getting in an what time will the final rankings be released to the viewing public?

This weekend, all five Power 5 conference championships will feature at least one team in the mix for a Playoff berth. In the ACC, there are the Clemson Tigers. In the Big Ten, there are the Ohio State Buckeyes. In the Pac-12, there are the Utah Utes. In the Big 12, there are the Baylor Bears and the Oklahoma Sooners. And in the SEC, there are the Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers.

LSU has essentially punched its ticket and will be getting in, regardless of what happens against Georgia. The same thing can be said about Ohio State, regardless of if the Buckeyes lose to the Wisconsin Badgers. If Georgia beats LSU, the Dawgs are in. Should Clemson beat the Virginia Cavaliers, they too will be in. The other three schools in contention will have to wait and see.

So no, we won’t know who will be getting into the Playoff until 12:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 7. ESPN will reveal the College Football Playoff Selection Committee’s final rankings of the 2019 NCAA season. When the broadcasters on ESPN know, so will the viewing public.

By Sunday morning, as many as six teams will still have the Playoff dream alive. The only team that we know for sure will be completely crossed off is the loser of the Big 12 Championship Game between Baylor and Oklahoma. Of course, conference championship game losses by either Clemson, Georgia and Utah will almost certainly have those Power 5 programs eliminated as well.

So who stands the best shot of getting in? That would be LSU. The Tigers are getting in unless they are humiliated by Georgia and the Selection Committee deems them to be unworthy; they won’t. Ohio State just can’t get humiliated by Wisconsin and they’re in. Clemson would need to suffer a shocking upset to not get in.

As for Georgia, the Dawgs could upset the Tigers in Atlanta on Saturday, but they will be the underdogs in that ball game, regardless in front of a crowd composed by 75 percent Georgia fans. If LSU beats Georgia, then Utah is probably the next team in, if the Utes win the Pac-12. After that, A Georgia loss and a Utah loss to the Oregon Ducks would have the Big 12 winner likely getting in.
