10. Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State

Fittingly, the only player who makes the top 10 of these Heisman rankings that was not in action on conference championship weekend is Oklahoma State Cowboys running back Chuba Hubbard. With the Pokes finishing at 8-4 on the season, they found themselves on the outside of the Big 12 Championship Game. However, that shouldn’t totally diminish the work that Hubbard put forth in 2019.

Carrying the ball an incredible 309 times on the season, Hubbard led the country in rushing yards with 1,936 and tied for second in rushing touchdowns with 21 while adding 183 receiving yards to put him well past 2,000 all-purpose yards for the year. He was a workhorse in the truest sense for the Cowboys and he delivered whenever called upon, thus leading to an overall impressive season in Stillwater despite injuries and heavy roster turnover from last year.

9. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson

In Clemson’s absolute demolition of Virginia, there were few players that didn’t have a field day for the Tigers offense. Running back Travis Etienne was among the many that enjoyed a monster day at the office. Though he only carried the ball 14 times on the night, Etienne went to work with those touches as he amassed 114 rushing yards and a touchdown on the night, contributing to the 62-17 blowout and sitting for the better part of the second half.

Truthfully, if Etienne had gotten more work in the 2019 season, he might be higher in these rankings. He had only 182 carries on the year and still went for 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns while averaging 8.2 yards per carry, the second-best average in college football. However, with the limited workload, he just cracks the top 10.
